UPDATE /22/2020: Gurdwara is open. All programs have been moved inside into main hall again and congregation is limited to 40 persons at any one time. This has been approved by Santa Clara County officials.

Dear Sangat Ji (Congregation)Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh (Sikh Greeting)We are sorry to report that some members of Gurdwara staff have been infected with Corona Virus. Gurdwara Committee is taking steps to ensure safety of the staff and the congregation. In view of this, the Committee requests all not to come to the Gurdwara Sahib.

On San Jose’s 240th birthday, Mayor Sam Liccardo and Mercury News Columnist Sal Pizarro joined together to launch The Great 408: a campaign to celebrate the gems, history, and culture that make San Jose a great city.

Electric vehicle charging station
Taking a move towards going green, the San Jose Gurdwara management committee has installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.  SJ Gurdwara is first in North America to have EV charging outlets.

San Jose Gurdwara has taken previous initiatives to cut carbon emissions.  It is already operating entirely on solar energy.  Now, installation of EV charging stations is a major initiative to promote electric vehicles.

EV charging stations will be provided free of cost to community members and visitors.

A special event was organized by the management to launch the charging stations, in which San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and Councilwoman Sylvia Arenas attended and appreciated efforts by the committee.
